“We have a modern, professional and highly-trained Army,” the President of the Association of Veterans and Reservists in Defence and Security Sectors, retired major general Ilija Nikolovski said on Thursday at the conference “ARM 1992 – 2012: Establishment, Development and Challenges”. Lieutenant General Miroslav Stojanovski, former Chief of ARM’s General Staff, said the Army has carried out several transformation processes since 1992. “What we have today is a type of compromise in terms of Macedonia’s internal needs - so that the Army can fulfil its missions in line with the Constitution and laws – and the Army meeting our NATO allies’ interoperability and standardisation requirements,” Stojanovski stressed.
