The Interior Ministry has already started to react to owners of weekend houses that plan to lease them during the holidays so that they know what may await them. “All plans for strengthened controls have already been drawn up,” Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski said on Thursday. He added that police officers would have a lot of work, but the health and life of citizens had to be the top priority. The Minister also reiterated the adopted measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Asked about the appointment of Stefan Andonov as Idrizovo Prison Director, Spasovski said it was not the competence of the Interior Minister and Ministry, adding that the Government should be contacted for all information. On the basis of the Interior Ministry needs, a competition for at least 500 new police officers will be organised in the coming period. Talking about the first 100 days of the new Government’s term, Spasovski said the fight against the coronavirus had been the priority. In that regard, he described the crisis as an additional motive to work in full swing and guide the country towards an exit with as little consequences as possible.
