Bulgarian MoFA: Positions Towards Skopje Remain Unchanged

The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs came out with a statement explaining the official positions of Sofia towards Skopje’s integration in EU, after German Federal minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock said that she spoke to her Bulgarian counterpart FM Teodora Genchovska about eventual approving of the EU membership talks for Skopje. “In relation to the speculations published in certain media, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically states that the positions of official Sofia towards North Macedonia have not changed, and remain in line with the conclusions adopted at the session of the Consultative Council headed by President Rumen Radev. Sofia expects constitutional guarantees by Skopje for respect of the human rights of Bulgarians living in North Macedonia,” writes the reaction of the Bulgarian MoFA.
