The marble depicting the Greater Albania flag was removed on Tuesday from the KLA memorial complex opened several prior in Sopot village, located in the Kumanovo region. The complex was closed, too, on Tuesday.
According to Kumanovo Municipality, it’s an illegal facility. The name of the one behind it cannot be found in any documentation. Local authorities have announced that a criminal charge will be filed against the person behind the construction once it is found out who they are.
Mayor Maksim Dimitrievski says he’s surprised by the Interior Ministry’s silence, adding that its obligation is to protect constitutional order and react when someone instigates interethnic confrontation. The possibility of demolishing the complex is not being ruled out.
