SDSM leader Venko Filipce addressed accusations at the government and VMRO-DPMNE over the fire that broke out at a capacity of electronic waste in Trubarevo on Saturday.
“This country is really becoming a dangerous place to live in. In only couple of days, there were fires at two factories and at two landfills, and now this, and the government cannot handle a single one of them. While the citizens of Skopje are inhaling extremely toxic fumes from these fires, the institutions do not react at all, failing to even issue fundamental recommendations suitable for situations with high air pollution”, Filipce said.
From VMRO-DPMNE they replied that Filipce’s accusations are not grounded, and countered with accusations against SDSM and him.
“Citizens remember very well the time in which Filipce and SDS[M] turned the country in the most polluted point in Europe. All these illegal landfills and problems did not just fall from the sky, but are result of the bad rule of SDS[M] and DUI. Instead of lecturing the citizens, Filipce should apologise to them for all the damage he and his party have done”, they reacted from VMRO-DPMNE.
From DOM they qualified the recent waste fires as “a murder attempt”, and called upon all MPs and political parties in the Parliament to adopt as soon as possible measures for dealing with the current situation, as well as to prevent such fires from happening in the future.
