In the case concerning the construction of Karposh Municipality’s prefabs, in which the Appellate Court has confirmed the one-year-prison sentence against former Mayor Jakimovski, one of the key pieces of evidence is the request for legalization.
The Prosecutor’s Office’s expert determined that documents showed changes to the Detailed Urban Plan (DUP) and a request for legalization. That, according to both the Criminal Court and the Appellate Court, shows illegal construction.
On the other hand, Jakimovski’s defense claims that the request for legalization was not logged in the Municipality’s records, while a graphologist determined that it had not been signed by Jakimovski at all, i.e., it is a fake.
The verdict has already been assigned to a judge for the execution of sanctions, who, within 30 days, has to deliver a notice for Jakimovski to report to the Shuto Orizari prison to start serving his sentence.
