At the EU Enlargement Summit, held in Brussels on Tuesday and organized by Euronews, President Siljanovska Davkova said her country would continue its efforts for dialogue with Bulgaria in good faith, but irrational problems related to identity couldn’t be overcome. According to her, North Macedonia’s blockade is not related to what she called reality, but to a lack of political will on the part of its neighbor, as well as on the part of the EU.
“All the politicians who visit us say that political will is needed, but what about political will from the EU? We can overcome rational problems, but irrational problems? How can I negotiate my identity, my language? Excuse me, I cannot”, she stressed.
