Half of EIB Credit Line Used So Far

Macedonian companies have used 50 % of the favourable credit line from the European Investment Bank (EIB). Since July, when it was made ​​available total 187 projects worth 50 million euro have been supported.
As the Macedonian Bank for Development Support informed, there are 23 projects pending approvals in the amount of 10 million euro, which will be provided with the withdrawal of a new fifth tranche of the credit line of 100 million euro provided by the Government from the EIB. The new tranche is expected to be withdrawn by the end of next month. Of the approved loans, 40 % are for manufacturing companies, 32 %are for trade, 11 % are for the service sector, 4% for transport and 3% are for hotels’ loans. With the realization of the previous four instalments from this third EIB credit line 1,314 jobs have been opened. Funds are available at a subsidized interest rate of 5.5% and a repayment period of eight years with a grace period of two years. With the previous two credit lines of 150 million euro 712 projects of small and medium enterprises were supported, which provided 3,150 new jobs.
