Vice PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski addressed the opening of the 10th Fair of Construction Buildings Materials and Construction Mechanisation ‘Build and Construct’ 2013/
“Macedonia was the only European country where the construction industry has managed to achieve positive results in the past four years of crisis,” said Stavreski. He underscored the measures that helped the construction industry’s success, such as the flat rate, an opportunity that many construction companies used to reinvest, which means that they are exempt from paying the profit tax and pay a lower VAT tax of 5 % instead of paying 18 % on the flat sales profits. He also pointed out that only three procedures are needed to obtain a construction permit, in comparison to the 21 procedures that were needed before. Over 300 companies will present their programme at the fair, including companies from Serbia, Turkey, Italy, Slovenia, Kosovo, Germany. The 3rd international real estate exhibition is also taking place at the same time. Domestic investors are promoting their new buildings with over 1,500 flats, accompanied by a presentation of the Buy a House, Buy a Flat project terms. The Urban Eco Expo 2013 will be promoted at the fair. Skopje Fair is expecting the events to be visited by over 15,000 people.   Sources: Dnevnik; Kanal 5; Sitel; MTV1; MIA; Makfax
