1,056 New COVID-19 Cases, 25 Deaths in Past 24 Hours

1,056 new COVID-19 cases were registered in the past 24 hours out of 3,728 tests conducted among citizens, while in the same period 25 COVID-19 patients passed away. Concluding with Tuesday, 1,392 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalised at clinics all over the country, of which 569 in Skopje and 823 in the rest of the country, while 300 beds remain vacant. It is also reported that infectious diseases departments in hospitals in Prilep, Ohrid, Kumanovo and Gevgelija are full of patients and new patients are admitted at other departments where there are vacant beds. The Public Healthcare Institute reported on Tuesday that in the period between 15 and 21 March 158 COVID-19 patients passed away or 22.5 % more than the previous week, while a total number of 6,899 new COVID-19 cases were registered, which is 26.4 % more than the previous week.
