1TV Owner Boki 13 arrested

TV personality and co-owner of 1TV Bojan Jovanovski, also known as Boki 13, has been arrested on Monday at the Bogorodica border-crossing at the Macedonian-Greek border. Besides Jovanovski, the Public Prosecution for Organised Crime issued an arrest warrant for businessman Zoran Mileski, also known as Zoki Kiceec, who was arrested the same day in Skopje. In a press conference at the Public Prosecution of Macedonia, the Head of the Public Prosecution for Organised Crime Vilma Ruskovska revealed details of the pre-investigative procedures against Jovanovski. “Between November 2018 and April this year, the main suspect influenced a state prosecutor to demand leniency against a suspect which was charged in a different case. The suspects then received 1.5 million euros in bribes from the person they were helping. They agreed with this person that they will be paid additional 5 million euros as a reward, but after suspecting that the meetings have been compromised, they ended their meetings,” Ruskovska revealed. Jovanovski and Mileski were taken to the Criminal Court later on Monday for interrogations related to the case, while police teams searched the house of the parents of Jovanovski as well as the premises of 1TV. The Public Prosecution for Organised Crime requested the Court to determine detention measures for both suspects.
