2,490 New COVID-19 Cases and 70 Deaths, Past 72 Hours

A total number of 2,940 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed by the Health Ministry over the past weekend in the country (999 on Friday, 1,299 on Saturday and 642 on Sunday), as well as 70 deaths (21 on Friday, 24 on Saturday and 25 on Sunday). Concluding with Sunday, 1,329 patients with COVID-19 are hospitalised at clinics and departments for infectious diseases around the country, as well as COVID centre open at other clinics. Due to the overcrowded capacities at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Skopje and the COVID centres at the Clinics for Surgical Diseases, for Ophthalmology, for Urology, for Neurology and the Clinic for Traumatology, Orthopaedic Diseases, Anaesthesia, Reanimation, Intensive Care, 7 patients were admitted at a newly open COVID department at the Clinic for Plastic Surgery, while 4 were admitted at the Kozle Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases among Children. Of the other major cities, 199 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised in Prilep, 104 in Kumanovo, 92 in Ohrid, 77 in Bitola, 72 in Kavadarci, 62 in Veles, 45 in Strumica, 35 in Gostivar and 31 in Tetovo.
