Health Minister Venko Filipce announced at a press conference that in the past 24 hours 54 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in our country, increasing the overall number to 908. Filipce also informed that 6 patients passed away as a result of COVID-19 complications, while in terms of cured patients the past day is the most successful one with 42 patients whose last two control tests turned negative for COVID-19. Of these, 10 patients were hospitalised at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Skopje, while the other 32 were staying at their homes in quarantine. Counted by cities, 329 COVID-19 cases are registered in Skopje, 236 in Kumanovo, 85 in Prilep, 49 in Debar, 43 in Struga, 38 in Tetovo, 34 in Veles, 28 in Stip, 22 in Kocani, 9 in Gostivar, 4 in Gevgelija, Radovis and Ohrid, 3 in Kavadarci, Krusevo and Kriva Palanka, 2 in Strumica and Probistip and 1 in Kicevo. Filipce also informed about a procedure for procurement of new medical ventilators, and that 31 ventilators will be delivered to the country in the following 30 days. “Out of 9 economic operators, two fulfilled all criteria of the government listed in the public call for medical ventilators. We are expecting the first couple of medical ventilators in the following 7 days,” Filipce said. Among the new cases of COVID-19 is former MP from SDSM Keti Smileska.
