All Parties Except Levica Favour Declaration of Support for Ukraine

After undergoing changes with remarks and support from almost all parliamentary parties, the Declaration of Support for Ukraine proposed by the LDP in the Parliament was reduced from 10 to 9 points and instead of a “Declaration of the Parliament condemning policies that call into question the existence of European countries and supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine” has now been renamed the “Declaration on condemnation of military attacks endangering the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine”. The amendments generally refer to the reference to international conventions and the reformulation of specific terms. The jointly harmonized text of the document states that the unprovoked Russian aggression against Ukraine is a blatant violation of international law, and the Parliament respects the right of Ukraine, as well as each sovereign state to decide independently on its internal arrangement. The MPs, among other things, support the decision of the Ukrainian Government for Ukraine to file a lawsuit before the International Court of Justice in The Hague. Levica will only vote against the Declaration of Support for Ukraine, Levica President, Dimitar Apasiev confirmed for Kanal 5, and announced that they will explain the reasons at the plenary session.
