Turkish Ambassador to Macedonia Tulin Erkal Kara paid a visit on Saturday to Ali Pasha Mosque in Ohrid, announcing that her country’s President, Recep Tayyip Erodgan, would come for the ceremony to promote the reconstructed religious facility. According to her, work is still underway on adjusting the date with the Macedonian authorities for presence of the formal opening. The Mosque was reconstructed and renovated in accordance with a decision of the Administration for Protection of Cultural-Historical Heritage, with financial support of Turkey. “The restoration of the facility has been a dream of President Erdogan. The Republic of Turkey and the Republic of North Macedonia are brotherly countries,” Kara stressed. In the Ambassador’s view, there’s nothing problematic with the reconstruction.
