Ambassador Zbogar Comments on Macedonia’s EU Road

“Recently, the European Commission once again repeated its recommendation,” the Head of the EU Delegation to Macedonia, Ambassador Samuel Zbogar said during Thursday’s visit to Probistip, adding that the Commission’s conviction was that it was time for accession negotiations to be opened with Skopje. Asked what the country should do to become part of the European family, the Ambassador said there was a lot. “There are a lot of things that your country should deliver,” the EU Delegation Head pointed out, adding that that was exactly why there was an enlargement process and the country currently couldn’t become a member. According to him, Macedonia’s economy, society, environment, and state institutions are supposed to all get ready for EU integration first. In that regard, Zbogar said that was why there was a negotiations process, that is, to get ready. He Stated that to put it simply, Skopje should implement EU standards.
