Apasiev Reacts to “Vanished” Amendments to Law on IDs

MP Dimitar Apasiev announced “war” and warned PS Talat Xhaferi to send secutiry to the session of the Parliamentary committee which will discuss the Law on IDs. Apasiev reacted because the Levica amendments to the Law on Identity Card disappeared during the transfer from the parliamentary archives to the office of the Parliamentary Speaker Xhaferi. The employees of the parliamentary archive, explained Apasiev, when submitting the amendments, instead of receiving them, asked for approval from Xhaferi, which is something that cannot be allowed in a parliamentary democracy. The amendments, according to Levica, were thrown in the trash, and Apasiev said that there was a violation of Article 152. Appalled by the Parliament’s attitude towards the amendments of Levica, he warned President Xhaferi to send security to the committee debate because he announces “war” at the session. “If you want incidents, I announce that you will receive incidents. If the committee does not have the amendments of Levica at 2 PM, I announce that you should call security and we will begin to escalate matters. You asked for a ball and you will get a masquerade ball. You want a war, you will get a war,” said Apasiev. “This is Parliament, not a street and do not issue threats from the rostrum,” Xhaferi responded to Apasiev’s speech.
