The Bulgarian News Agency BGNES reports that the annual draft-report of the European Parliament concerning the progress of Macedonia addresses criticism at Bulgarian state officials for alleged provocative statements against Macedonia. “The MEP groups of the Socialists and the Greens have filed these amendments to the draft-report, which we find to be quite biased, unbalanced and ungrounded. According to the amendments, Bulgarian state officials are advised to refrain from provocative statements in historical context towards North Macedonia. Official Sofia announced that they will demand explanation from the EP Rapporteur for North Macedonia Ilhan Kyuchyuk about these amendments,” BGNES writes. The amendments were also criticised by Vice-president of Bulgaria Iliana Iotova.
