High Representative of EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell recently said that the EU has not forgotten about the Western Balkans. “We have not forgotten our obligations towards these countries, but they should also keep their part of the obligations, i.e. to proceed with implementation of reforms for more independent judiciary and more efficient fight against corruption. The European perspective remains the main motor of the changes and improvements in these countries, so I believe it is not good to claim that the EU has forgotten about the Western Balkans. We are about to start accession negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania, and we supported the continuation of the negotiations between Serbia and Kosovo,” Borrell said.
