EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell hosted an informal dinner with Western Balkan leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to discuss the situation in the region. EU-Western Balkans relations were also discussed, as well as preparations for the EU-Western Balkans summit in early October. “This provided an opportunity to discuss expectations regarding EU accession. The High Representative stressed the need for a strong commitment from both partners, from the Western Balkans and the European Union, and its member states in overcoming the current dynamics and moving the process forward,” the Foreign Office (EEAS) said.
