If no deal is reached regarding the date to jointly celebrate Goce Delcev, Bulgaria will withdraw from the further work in the Joint Commission with Macedonia. Bulgarian FM Ekaterina Zaharieva says that her country will make no compromise in this regard, adding that she will not agree with the Macedonian side’s proposal for Delcev to be celebrated on 7 October. Experts in Macedonia consider that the stand aims at getting a favourable position as possible in the period leading up to the decision on a date for start of membership negotiations.
