Bulgaria’s Radev: Skopje-Sofia Relations not Just About Historical Dispute

In the relations between Skopje and Sofia, it’s not just about a historical dispute. Meeting the Copenhagen criteria for EU membership, including human rights and non-discrimination, matters, too. That was said by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev’s press-service on Satudray after the meeting with German Chancellor Olaf SCholz in Sofia. “These are necessary conditions North Macedonia has to fulfil before starting the EU membership negotiations,” it was added. At the meeting, the Bulgarian President insisted on the EU being a guarantor with regards to respecting the rights of Bulgarians in North Macedonia.
