Businessman Orce Kamcev was arrested on Sunday afternoon, after the Agency for National Security (ANS) delivered to the Criminal Court in Skopje that he was planning escape. Kamcev is one of the defendants in the Empire case, and is also a suspect in a case focusing on an embezzlement conducted by former PM Nikola Gruevski, who abused around 1.3 million euros from donations for VMRO-DPMNE, the party he used to be a leader of, to purchase building plots near Vodno Mountain in Skopje, and later he intended to launder the money, for which he was allegedly assisted by Kamcev, as well as former head of the Security and Counterintelligence Administration Saso Mijalkov. After his arrest, the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organised Crime (BPPOOC) demanded from the Criminal Court a detention measure against Kamcev due to the information for preparing to escape, which was approved by the Court, ultimately resulting with Kamcev ending in the Sutka Psrison in Skopje for the next 30 days.
