“The investment we are making in energy efficiency with the production of energy from renewable resources and the accelerated abandonment of fossil fuels is the key and most vital aspect of the green transition,” said the Deputy President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of Economic Affairs, Fatmir Bytyqi at the conference “Circular Economy Week in the Western Balkans” organized by Civil, implemented by the LogEx regional network, on the initiative of the prominent think-tank organization Balkan Forum from Kosovo, and with the support of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund from the USA. In his address, Vice Prime Minister Bytyqi said that talking about a circular economy means talking about the efficiency and effectiveness of economic activities, about how productivity, competitiveness and economic growth get new development paths that are sustainable. He underlined the importance of developing awareness of the need to adopt a circular approach in the economy, which is no longer a secondary aspect, but a central theme that should guide everything the country does.
