On Wednesday, caretaker PM Oliver Spasovski met with Italian Ambassador Carlo Romeo. At the meeting, strong support from Italy’s Government was expressed about the important role of the caretaker Cabinet in Skopje in terms of continuing reforms, good-neighbourly relations, EU and NATO integration processes, and organising the elections. Clear pledges are needed from all political stakeholders for full realisation of the NATO integration process, for reaffirmation of dialogue, which can contribute towards a deal on the Public Prosecutor’s Office law, even though the document is not a condition for the Euro-integration process, as well as for full and consistent respect for the Prespa Agreement, it was assessed at the meeting. Spasovski thanked Italian PM Conte and the country’s Government for the support for Macedonia in all its important development and democratic processes, including the name deal, the NATO road, and Italy’s pledges for Macedonia to start membership negotiations with the EU.
