On Monday, Parliament’s Committee on European Affairs adopted the Games of Chance Draft-Law.
The opposition once again accused the ruling majority of abusing the so- called EU flag procedure, adding that the law aimed to see money from gambling end up in companies close to DUI. On the other hand, the ruling majority’s representatives pointed out that it was about protecting children and creating order in gambling.
“If VMRO-DPMNE has such experience with the kickbacks, we don’t,” DUI’s Arber Ademi stated. According to the Draft-Law, a slot machine club, a sports betting shop or other facility for organisation of games of chance is not allowed to be within 500 metres of schools. Also, the possibility of organising online games of chance is being introduced.
