Tuesday saw a joint session of the National European Integration Council and Foreign Affairs Committee, at which Spanish Ambassador Jose Luis Lozano Garcia presented the programme and priorities regarding his country’s EU Presidency in the second half of this year. At the event, the EU Delegation’s Head, Ambassador David Geer said adoption of the constitutional changes without further delay would lead to the 2nd Inter-governmental Conference being held. To that end, he added, open debates are needed in Parliament without prejudices of the past and fears about the future. However, Geer had fierce remarks about the judicial reforms. The Spanish Ambassador expressed big support for EU enlargement and appreciates Skopje’s efforts regarding progress on the EU path.
