The Prosecutor’s Office has finally appointed a prosecutor tasked with acting upon cases opened by the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption, the Commission’s President, Biljana Ivanovska, says in an interview with Kanal 5 TV. According to her, that is a bright spot in the fight against corruption, a fight she nonetheless describes as not satisfactory. Ivanovska adds that the Commission doesn’t have the information the state leadership does about the so-called blacklist of the US. There is corruption, but it needs to be proven, the Commission’s head points out. “Corruption is a signal in terms of bad management of state resources,” Ivanovska stresses. Regarding the election of Islam Abazi as Head of the Office for Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption, she states that, for starters, it is not instilling trust.
