Council of Public Prosecutors Head Jolevski Comments on Several Topics

“We cannot say ahead of time that we will eliminate someone because the public is speculating about something,” Council of Public Prosecutors President Antonio Jolevski said on Wednesday regarding the election of Prosecutor Ajton Ajro. As Kanal 5 TV reported, there were speculations according to which the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption has opened a procedure concerning a case in which his wife and his brother get big personal benefit.

Regarding the non-election of Lence Ristovska to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office, Jolevski said the Council had no opportunity to check the results of her work, adding that she could apply also in the frames of the competition in September.

Asked about Vilma Ruskovska, who has not been elected to North Macedonia’s Public Prosecutor’s Office, he said the Council didn’t want to prejudge by electing a person to a higher office when a dismissal proposal for that person was yet to be decided on.
