The abuse of office criminal charge against former Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska Milevska, the former Deputy Minister and the Manager at the Ministry has been rejected by the Prosecutor’s Office. As it was said on Wednesday, a relevant public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje has rejected the charge against three persons about unscrupulous operation within the service. It’s about a charge filed by the Finance Ministry’s Financial Police Office before the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption, according to which the three persons, in the capacity of Minister, Deputy Minister and Manager of Financial Affairs Sector at the Ministry, from July 2009 to February 2017, with omission of relevant supervision, incorrectly acted in the performance of their authorisation and duties. The Office added that the prosecutor had rejected the charge because there was no well-founded suspicion that the three persons had committed said or another crime for which prosecution is undertaken ex officio. “Acting upon the criminal charge, the relevant public prosecutor conducted examination of the three persons and of a Ministry of Culture representative. An analysis and insight, too, was conducted into the auditor’s reports on the Culture Ministry’s operations in the aforementioned years. In all listed reports, no irregularities were found in the activities and financial transactions towards the institution,” it was also pointed out.
