Croatia to Pay special Attention to Unblocking Start of Negotiations in May

At the May Summit in Zagreb, Croatia will pay special attention to unblocking a start of negotiations with Macedonia and Albania, according to Croatian PM Andrej Plenkovic. Presenting the priorities of his country’s EU Presidency at the meeting of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of Parliaments of the European Union, held in the Croatian capital on Monday, Plenkovic stated that special attention would be paid to unblocking the situation of the two countries. As he added, Europe will never be as open as it was in the 1990s. The enlargement process is now carefully designed, the Croatian PM noted. According to him, it’s not fair that Macedonia is “on hold” when it comes to starting negotiations, despite the name and Constitution change.
