The integration in EU of both North Macedonia and Albania is a strategic interest for more stable Balkans both of Greece and of Bulgaria, said Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias at a meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart Ekaterina Zaharieva in Athens. “Both Bulgaria and Greece are important factors of stability when it comes to the Balkan region, henceforth our support for the accession in the EU of Albania and North Macedonia, as long as they respect all conditions and criteria,” Dendias said. “Integration in the EU of these two countries would mean a lot for Bulgaria and Greece, but it is also our mutual perception that these countries must strictly stick to the principles of good-neighbourliness on their road towards EU,” Zaharieva underlined, adding that the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Greece are a very good example of good-neighbourliness within the EU and in general.
