In the frames of his visit to Brussels, Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Maricic held a meeting on Tuesday with EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi. They talked about the Skopje-Sofia dialogue, Western Balkans’ European perspective, situation in Ukraine, and its consequences. As Maricic said, preserving the stability in the region and orienting towards more intensive cooperation between candidate countries and the Union is a key interest for everybody. According to him, the French Presidency’s support and commitment when it comes to reaching a deal and Skopje’s integration process is strong. 10 days before the June summit and Western Balkans conference of the French Presidency, his message is that the time should be maximally used for a European solution to be reached between Skopje and Sofia, which, with EU leadership, will put a European stamp on the future of the region.
