The coronavirus situation is being put under control, while elections should be held in the first period possible. This is how SDSM has hinted that the summer periods for holding elections at the end of June or the start of July might become a reality. Specific dates aren’t being mentioned, that is, the ruling party is saying that experts should give the green light on the basis of analyses. Sec Gen Ljupco Nikolovski believes that a parliamentary composition should be formed as soon as possible in order for the legislative home to be functional without an extension of the state of emergency. The opposition disagrees. It believes that the state of emergency should continue due to, as it explains, the health-economic crisis. Aleksandar Nikoloski, Vice President of the opposition party, points out that such decisions should be made in accordance with the actual situation, not on the basis of political standpoints.
