Dimitrov: Draft Negotiating Framework Expected in Early June

“We expect to get the draft negotiating framework in early June,” Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov said during an online briefing about Macedonia’s EU road. As he added, what’s also is expected is for it to be approved in several months, depending on the COVID-19 crisis, and for the first inter-Governmental session to start. According to Dimitrov, though the plan is not set in stone, it is for two frameworks to be presented, that is, one each for Skopje and Tirana, together with the package of enlargement documents very early in June. “Afterwards, I believe will start a political process at a level of Member States, where it will be discussed and they will be able to offer their view on the proposal,” the Minister stated.
