The conference “Open Balkans – Road to Stabilization, Cooperation and Prosperity of the Region” was held Wednesday in the Serbian National Assembly in Belgrade. Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and US Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Gabriel Escobar, addressed the conference online, correspondent reports from Belgrade. In his address, Dimitrov said that his experience in bilateral disputes had taught him that the skill in overcoming open issues in the region is to turn divergent positions into convergent interests and that the key to a stronger Western Balkans is one that creates inclusion and integration, and an “Open Balkans”, underlined, as the name suggests, is exactly in that direction.
