Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov took part in a coordinative meeting with his counterparts from the Western Balkans, initiated and attended by Enlargement Commissioner at the European Commission (EC) Oliver Varhelyi. As the Secretariat for European Affairs informs, the participants in the meeting exchanged information about the efforts made by the EC for securing COVID-19 vaccines for the Western Balkans, and concluded that the EU will secure financial support for these countries to procure vaccines outside the COVAX mechanism. Varhelyi also tweeted earlier on Monday that he held a meeting with German FM Heiko Maas, at which they discussed the accession of Macedonia and Albania in the EU.
