Defence Minister Radmila Sekerinska paid on Thursday an official visit to Ljubljana where she met her Slovenian counterpart Matej Tonin. At the meeting, Sekerinska and Tonin discussed the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of defence in scope of their NATO membership and reginal security initiatives. “I am grateful for the continuous support Slovenia provides to our country overall, but especially in the field of defence. We already signed a contract for organisation of activities for more dynamic cooperation in the field of defence. Also, very soon, the mission of Slovenia at the NATO Liaisons Office in Skopje will conclude, since North Macedonia has become a full-fledged NATO member,” Sekerinska said. Slovenian FM Tonin praised the courage of the Macedonian government for resolving the bilateral disputes with Greece and the accession in NATO, and added that Macedonia deserves to start the accession negotiations with the EU as soon as possible.
