Following the decisions for independent participation, the Democratic Union (DS), LDP and DOM have an agreement in principle for joint participation in the local elections. The parties are still in negotiations and the decision would be made official when it passes through the party bodies. DS leader Pavle Trajanov says that they are already preparing for the local elections, with a public call for mayors and incumbents, for which he says there is great interest, but that talks have already begun for a coalition with DOM and LDP, and the goal is a tripartite coalition in which other smaller parties would be interested in joining and is emerging as a new option, as opposed to the two current large blocs. LDP leader Goran Milevski confirms that for now the talks are going in a positive direction, and believes that they would offer a viable alternative for the citizens.
