The Democratic Union (DU) published a press release in which they claim that Justice
Minister Krenar Lloga has abused his official position by implementing a new Rulebook
for Management of Civil Registries, which introduce in personal documents a graph for
ethnicity of the citizen that holds them. “The declaration of nationality and ethnicity is a
fundamental human right, which cannot be stated in and by an official document without
proper law-changes and without consent by the citizens. There is no country in the world
in which nationality or ethnicity are registered in personal documents of citizens, which
is why we call upon the Government to withdraw these controversial law-changes, and to
demand responsibility by Justice Minister Lloga,” they state from DU.
