The central presidency of DUI assembled on Saturday at the party headquarters in Mala Recica in order to discuss further actions after the meeting of SDSM leader Dimitar Kovacevski and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski, at which Mickoski told Kovacevski that VMRO-DPMNE may support constitutional changes after becoming part of the government and after DUI leaves it. “We already stated that, in order for the country to take on this historical chance for fast-track integration in the EU, DUI is ready to leave the ruling majority. Having all this in mind, the central presidency of DUI reached a decision that we shall leave the government in the moment when the constitutional changes are adopted and enter into force. Apart from this, we also want a parallel process for vetting over all political parties and their leaders, so that once and for all we can put an end to the corruptive and criminal activities with abuse of official positions,” DUI Spokesperson Bujar Osmani said after the meeting.
