European Commission (EC) Spokesperson Ana Pisonero told MIA that the EC believes Macedonia and Bulgaria can find solution for the bilateral disputes between them, which currently obstruct the integration of Macedonia in the EU. “We encourage both sides to invest efforts in finding solutions for the bilateral issues so that the EU can hold the first inter-governmental session with the government of North Macedonia as soon as possible,” Pisonero said. Foreign Affairs Minister Bujar Osmani said in meantime that the negotiation framework for Macedonia has already been approved by 26 EU member-states, except Bulgaria, and that the negotiations between official Skopje and Sofia will proceed to the very last minute on 17 November, when the Council of Europe should reach a decision over the start of the inter-governmental session between EU and Macedonia.
