EIB Provides 70 Million Euros for Waste Water Treatment Station in Skopje

Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi, Environment Minister Kaja Sukova and Deputy President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Lilyana Pavlova signed in Skopje the contract for a grant of 70 million euros from EIB for construction of a waste water treatment station in Skopje. The event was also attended by Deputy PM in charge of European Affairs Bojan Maricic, EU Ambassador David Geer and Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska. Deputy PM Maricic said that the negotiations for EU membership and the EU membership itself have ultimate goal to improve the living standards of the citizens, and that this project is an excellent example for that. “With projects of this kind, we are bringing Europe to our country, and to our citizens we being the living standards of the citizens of the EU,” Maricic said.
