At Wednesday’s public session, the Criminal Court’s Criminal Council rejected the appeals filed by the defence and confirmed the decisions made by the judge in a previous procedure to accept the proposal for a detention measure in the Empire case, opened by the Special Prosecutor’s Office. There are 13 suspects in the case, including the former UBK Director, Saso Mijalkov. Five of the suspects, businessperson Jordan Kamcev, Cvetan Pandeleski, Nenad Josifovic, Zorica Arsovska and Todor Mircevski, are in detention. According to the SPO, during the pre-investigative procedure, by taking different investigative activities, enough pieces of evidence were secured that resulted in grounded suspicions that the suspects had committed the crimes they are charged with from 2002 and 2013 personally or through legal entities owned by them.
