The idea to open a Europe House in Bitola was promoted during Thursday’s visit by the Head of the EU Delegation, Ambassaodr David Geer, after he and Mayor Toni Konjanovski had talked about the mass emigration from the city. There, the young will be able to talk about European values, Geer noted. The Ambassador said he was worried by the high pollution level in Bitola which, as he added, he noticed while he had been travelling to the city. According to Geer, there was a discussion on numerous aspects in relation to the environment, as well as on the EU funds, the REK Bitola plant, and how to make right transition towards green production of energy. Geer also visited the Officer’s Home in Bitola, a facility recently reconstructed and restored with money from EU funds. Regarding the issue between North Macedonia and Bulgaria, Geer sees progress in the relations between the two sides. As far as the country’s EU road is concerned, the Ambassador added that North Macedonia should continue both the integration path and the implementation of reforms.
