Over the past 24 hours, 101 new COVID-19 cases have been registered, Health Minister Venko Filipce wrote on his official Facebook page at around 1 pm on Wednesday. It was added that the same period had seen 10 new cured patients and four new deaths. 974 tests were taken in the 24-hour span. There are currently 742 active cases in the country. Previously, Filipce had said Macedonia had managed to avoid “an Italian scenario”. Most of the new cases, 59, are in Skopje. According to SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, Macedonia can deal with the crisis. “This wave of the virus is very different. There was enough time to procure the necessary equipment, healthcare institutions are prepared. Healthcare workers gained experience to detect and treat the virus,” he said. On the other hand, VMRO-DPMNE believes that the coronavirus situation is alarming.
