First Officers to Work in Positions in NATO Command Structure Selected

The first officers from the North Macedonian Army have been selected to work in the Alliance’s commands as NATO officers, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement. Lieutenant Colonel Gjorgji Vasilevski will be the Staff Officer for Operations Support, Hybrid Warfare and Counter-Terrorism in the Operations Planning Department at NATO’s International Military Headquarters in Brussels, Lt. Col. Goran Stojanovski – Staff Officer for Strategic Plans, Education and Doctrines Forces (SHAPE), Lieutenant Colonel Nikola Hristovski, Staff Officer in Defence Planning at the Federal Transformation/Headquarters Element in Europe, and Major Mijalce Mitrev, Staff Officer for Force Generation at SHAPE. Sekerinska added that the filling process will continue: new vacancies for seven positions are already underway and it is planned to fill all 20 positions in NATO command structures by 2023.
