At the debate “The Western Balkans after the Settlement of the Name Dispute – Accomplishments, Challenges, Perspectives”, held on Tuesday in the Bundestag, Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov described Macedonia as a success story. “In spite of the difficult political situation in Europe today, forthcoming European elections, all the issues that are there, we simply don’t have the luxury of failing to create success stories. And my country, today, North Macedonia, is a success story that needs to be encouraged and supported if we want to make a difference. And my big lesson learned from all of this is: We actually can make a difference because none of this, the reconciliation, the Prespa Agreement, this was not inevitable. On the contrary, it happened because we made it happen with the leadership in Athens,” he said.
