In the frames of his first day of his visit to Berlin, Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov held a meeting with German Minister for Europe Michael Roth. “On several occasions in the past year and a half, we were exceptionally close to achieving success and valorising the joint efforts for opening of EU negotiations with North Macedonia,” he said. As Dimitrov added, if the goal is to give further encouragement to the reform process, save the EU’s credibility and influence in the region, and prevent the country’s significant achievements from being undermined, it’s necessary to grab the first following opportunity to make the long-awaited and deserved decision. Roth said they shared the disappointment with the developments. “We will continue the joint efforts to achieve this goal in the decisive period ahead of us,” the German Minister said.
