Four charged With Unauthorised tapping and Audio recording

Police in Prilep have charged Ljupco Palevski and three other persons from the city and Bitola with unauthorised tapping and audio recording. On 4 April, during the election campaign, the four persons organised a small catering at which they played, over a public-address system, several illegally wire-tapped conversations in which the voices of current and former officials could be heard. Palevski and the others were then held at a police station. Following a prosecutor’s order, searches were carried out, too, in which their mobile phones, memory cards, USB flash drives and other electronic and computer equipment were seized. According to the Criminal Code, if they are found guilty, they will be either fined or given a prison sentence of up to one year.
